About:

Adding to her professional repertoire, Garden Design is a new venture for this well respected designer who for 16 years has been at the top of her field in Couture Bridalwear & Bridal Accessory design.

Following in the footsteps of multi-talented artists who have gone before; the models turned photographers & designers, the fashion designers who dabble in product design, photography, costume & interiors, actors who direct & write.....

Chantal is taking her first steps into a second design business that fuses her eclectic mix of design skills, attention to detail & unique eye with an exciting new medium.

Currently training part-time at Capel Manor, the result is a designer who's garden design work is as individual as her fashion work & these different mediums are proving to have a very positive influence on both businesses.

Whilst her label: Chantal Mallett ~ Couture Bridal continues with Chantal remaining completely hands on from consultation & design through to cutting, fittings, making & hand finishing, Jardin Couture ~ Bespoke Garden Design is a 'Design Only' enterprise with trusted landscapers implementing the design under Chantal's watchful eye.

And it goes without saying that Chantal comes to garden design with a great understanding of working one to one with clients; having worked on what has been most clients's first experience of having anything bespoke created & on projects which are so personally important to them. Chantal knows how to communicate to get what she needs from them in order to give them exactly what they desire, even when they haven't entirely been sure what it is they wanted; as feedback on Chantal Mallett Bridal Couture's website will testify.

But really beyond Chantal's design credentials the most interesting, relevant & informative proof of any designer's work is their Portfolio which can be see by following this link: PORTFOLIO

Services:

One day, design consultation and report:

Chantal will visit your garden to consult with you on what improvements you would like to make (see: full design service below for some of the items covered during a consultation). This consultation will take several hours; the aim is for Chantal to help you identify the areas of your garden that would most benefit from a make-over and advise you on what you could do to make your space work for you. This service involves producing rough sketches on site and the production of a report evaluating your garden and making suggestions for how it might be improved.

This is not a full design service; the purpose is to offer a guiding hand to point clients in the right direction. There is a one off fee for this service.

Full garden design service (fee refundable against booking Chantal's services):

This involves a visit to the client's garden, a brief site analysis and a design consultation; we discuss the client's aspirations for their space, what they wish to keep and get rid of, their taste, the style and feel they would like to create, the uses they need their space to fulfil, how much maintenance they are willing to take on, their budget, etc. Chantal will take notes, offer up suggestions, solicit feedback and ask questions with a view to establishing an outline brief.

At the end of the consultation, if the client wishes, Chantal will submit in writing: a design brief for the client to sign off on, details of the fees for the design and a contract.

There will then be:

?         A follow up visit to conduct a site survey (by Chantal or a Surveyor if the site is complex).

?         A second consultation to discuss various ideas and to decide on and sign off on the finalised design, which will be drawn up by hand.

Chantal is happy to help you find contractors to build her design and can be contacted to oversee the design as it is implemented.

Note: There are additional fees for construction drawings, hand coloured design drawings, consultancy fees for overseeing implementation of the design and planting plans.

*A little know fact: In ancient French the word 'couture' meant 'cultivated land'. Now of course it is related to bespoke women's fashion; it's first recorded use was in 1908.*

If you are interested in speaking to Chantal about a *project please telephone: 07973 777849 or Email.

*Rates will at this time reflect the designer's desire to build a photographic portfolio of work that showcases her unique style.
